Become a Mentor

How can I get involved?

The Center for Student Success looks for undergraduate students interested in helping first-year students with their transition to Carolina.

Renwick Mentors

Renwick Mentors help facilitate the Renwick Fellows Program, which aims to help all first-year students explore identity and social justice as it relates to their transition to Carolina.

Renwick Mentors are tasked with helping equip fellows with critical thinking skills and connection to academic and co-curricular resources. Mentors will be trained in mentorship and curriculum-based approaches grounded in identity, social justice, and social change that promote a sense of belonging for underrepresented students on campus.

HeelGuides

The HeelGuides program eases the transition from high school to college for first generation, first-year students at Carolina by providing them with an upperclassman “guide.”

HeelGuides are trained in a guided conversation curriculum that helps students become familiar with campus culture and resources, make intentional connections, and create networks of support.
