New Transfers

Congratulations and welcome to the Tar Heel Family!

We’re so glad that you decided to join us in Chapel Hill. Every step of transferring into a new university can be as daunting as it is exciting. So, we are going to provide you with next steps and plenty of resources you can begin to look into. If you have any questions about anything you find here, feel free to reach out! FayardL@email.unc.edu

After being accepted, keep an eye out for your Advising Welcome Letter, which is sent to your personal email address (whichever personal email you included in your application), generally in mid-April. If you check your junk, etc., folders and don’t see that welcome letter, email Luke and he will happily send you a copy! (Bear with him as he tries to keep up during transfer season!) Keep an eye out for emails from Luke as well, as he will be sending out information as you go through the cycle (orientation sign up, parking, resources, etc.).

On Academic Advising’s website, you’ll find a checklist of next steps: Newly Admitted Transfer Students.

If you’re curious about resources or want to start planning your education, as well as how you’ll build your UNC community, check out the Transfer Student Success page, as well as the rest of the resources at the link above.
