CAROLINA FIRSTS HONORS PROGRAM
Innovative and High-Impact. The first and only honors program in the nation designed specifically for first generation college students, participants receive individual guidance and access to set of curated high-impact experiences across campus and the globe.
CAROLINA FIRSTS GRADUATION
A tradition of graduation. Established in 2011, this event recognizes and celebrates hundreds of first-generation college graduates and families over a shared meal.
LOOKOUT SCHOLARS
Developing citizen leaders. Scholars engage in four years of collaborative learning, service, and high impact opportunities including study abroad and undergraduate research.
TRANSFER STUDENT SERVICES & SUMMER TRANSFER PROGRAM
Thriving in transfer. Our programs aim to support and celebrate the individuality and contributions of 2,100 transfer students within the UNC community. Collaboratively works with partners across campus to facilitate transfer student access and success.
ROAD TO RESILIENCE
Belong. Road to Resilience is a small group designed to support students that are navigating academic challenges and life concerns. The group allows students to develop a sense of community with their peers and develop skills to THRIVE while at UNC.

Cultivating a coordinated culture of care. The most helpful resource on a student’s path to thriving in college are knowledgeable, caring advocates and professionals who are invested in their growth and success. Undergraduate Retention works to enhance our collective ability to provide the highest-possible quality of support and service to the next generation of scholars on their path to graduation.
