Each May, the Center for Student Success holds the Carolina Firsts Graduation and Pinning Ceremony which is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of graduating first-generation college students! At the ceremony, students are recognized and given a ‘Carolina Firsts’ pin which is placed upon them by an accompanying friend, family member, or a Center for Student Success staff member. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from an engaging keynote speaker who is either involved in work that supports first-generation college students or who is a first-generation college student themselves. A light reception with photo opportunities will follow the ceremony. Tickets for the 2024 ceremony are now available and can be reserved here.
